First Lady’s Baby Unit Facility Ready In November

The multipurpose Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) facility, being constructed at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, is 70 percent complete.

First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, personally pushed for the construction of the about GH¢10 million medical facility, which started about four months ago.

Stephen Coret, Project Manager for Africa Building Construction Limited and engineer for the project, said “70 per cent work had been done and we are now focusing on the finishing touches so by November, it would have been completed.”

He made this disclosure when Mrs Akufo-Addo visited the construction site to ascertain the level of completion.
