Fraud case against Collins Amoah dismissed, not withdrawn – Lawyers

Lawyers for businessman Collins Amoah, Porta Legis Consultancy, have dismissed claims that a fraud case against their client was withdrawn by his accusers. According to the lawyers, the case was instead dismissed by Circuit Court 3 in Accra.

There were media publications indicating that the case was withdrawn by the complainant.
However, the legal team of Mr. Amoah, in a statement, argued that the case was dismissed by Circuit Court 3 in Accra due to a lack of merit.

According to the statement from Porta Legis Consultancy, their client was never involved in the alleged GH¢800,000 transaction that led to the complaint.

The statement emphasizes that he was neither notified nor summoned before the case commenced, nor was he given any opportunity to respond before a bench warrant was reportedly issued against him.

Collins Amoah, upon learning of the situation through media reports, promptly returned to Ghana to clear his name, according to the lawyers. They argue that the court, after reviewing the case, found no evidence to support the allegations, leading to its dismissal.

They have categorically dismissed reports suggesting that the case was settled, clearly emphasizing that the offense—defrauding by false pretense—is a felony that cannot be resolved through settlement.

Amoah’s legal team has urged the media to verify their reports and warned of legal action if false narratives persist.

They assert that no stone will be left unturned in their duty to protect the untainted reputation and integrity of their client.

Collins Amoah is a businessman and a prominent member of the NPP.

He was part of the Ablekuma Central Parliamentary Primaries in 2024 and was only a few votes short of becoming the parliamentary candidate. – starrfm.com.gh
