Ghana celebrate Napo @ 53

The public good will and affection for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, the Minister responsible for Energy, once again came to bare yesterday Sunday May 23 when he turned 53 years old.

The birthday of the hardworking minister, who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South Constituency, became a topical issue across the country while congratulatory and messages of well wish, poured in from several countries.

Majority of Ghanaians including both the old and the young, in one way or the other, celebrated the
Visionary leader and prayed for more years for him.

Dr. OPoku Prempeh himself took to his Facebook page and wrote:

“On this special day, as I enter another year of my life, I look back through time with a bountiful sacrifice of thanksgiving, for it is by His divine grace that I still am.

“Over the decades, He has remained faithful – my source of joy in good times and my rock when things seemed bleak and the tempest raged around me.

“As I reflect on His word on this day, I am inspired by the Psalmist’s words of joy in Psalm 3:3 and I lift my head high as I look into the future, safe in the knowledge that He is my shield and my glory.
Thank you, Lord, for this day and every day.”

Most of the well wishers, who were drawn from diverse backgrounds, took to social media platforms such as Facebook, Tweeter and the others to wish Napo well.

One statement that ran through the well wishes was a fervent prayer for God to grant Napo long life, wisdom and sound health so he would continue to serve Ghana.

Interestingly, people that are not affiliated with Napo’s New Patriotic Party (NPP), the ruling party, even joined the crusade in wishing the Energy Minister well on his birthday.

Significantly, NPP members from all the 16 regions of the country also thanked God for adding another year to the life of Napo, whom they described as an asset for Ghana.

The NPP National Youth Wing, led by Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye aka ‘Nana B’, on behalf of the party, also wished Napo well and prayed that he lived long on earth.

The Ashanti Regional NPP youth wing were also not left out in the well wishes for Napo, as they also posted a touching birthday message on social media for Napo.

“You have touched the lives of many NPP Youth positively. Your name continues to be on the lips of all, not because you are handsome, but your generosity.

“You’re not a youth by age, but a youth by deed. We’re proud to call you a “Patron” to the Ashanti Regional Youth Wing. God bless you”, their message, authored by their leader, Dennis Kwakwa, read.
