Ghana Name Squad for Austria and Germany Clash

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has named a strong squad for Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany in March 2026.

The squad features four new players who have earned their first call-ups: Derrick Luckassen, Patrick Pfeiffer, Marvin Senaya, and Daniel Agyei.

Luckassen is a centre-back who plays for Pafos FC in Cyprus. He trained at AZ Alkmaar and has played for clubs such as PSV, Hertha BSC, Anderlecht, and Maccabi Tel Aviv. He recently won the 2024/25 Cypriot league and scored Pafos’ first Champions League goal. Senaya plays for French Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre and has also featured for Strasbourg, Sochaux, and Lausanne-Sport since making his debut in 2021.

Agyei is a forward and winger who plays for Turkish club Kocaelispor. Born in England, he has played for clubs including Burnley, Oxford United, Crewe Alexandra, and Leyton Orient. Pfeiffer is a defender who plays for German side Darmstadt 98.

Some experienced players have returned to the team, including Inaki Williams, Thomas Partey, Ibrahim Sulemana, and Alexander Djiku.

In goal, Ghana has Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Benjamin Asare, and Joseph Anang. The defence includes Gideon Mensah, Jerome Opoku, Caleb Yirenkyi, Kojo Oppong Pepprah, Jonas Adjetey, and Derrick Kohn.

In midfield, players like Elisha Owusu and Kwasi Sibo join Partey and Sulemana. The attack features Jordan Ayew, Brandon Thomas Asante, Prince Adu, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Antoine Semenyo, Kamal Deen Sulemana, and Agyei.

Ghana will play Austria in Vienna on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to face Germany on March 30.
