Ghana, Turkey commit to boosting trade volumes beyond USD1 Billion by 2027

Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Sampson Ahi, has emphasized the need for Ghana and Turkey to work closely to scale up trade volumes between the two nations, with a renewed commitment to achieving the USD 1 billion trade target well ahead of the 2027 timeline.

Sampson Ahi made the remarks while participating in the Turkey–Africa Business and Economic Forum, which took place from October 16 to 17, 2025, in Istanbul, Turkey.

The high-level forum brings together government officials, business leaders, and investors from across Africa and Turkey to explore opportunities for economic cooperation, trade expansion, and sustainable investment partnerships.

On the sidelines of the event, Mr. Ahi held bilateral talks with Turkey’s Deputy Minister for Trade, Hon. Mustafa Tuzcu, focusing on strengthening trade and investment relations between the two countries. Discussions centered on developing strategic frameworks to promote mutual economic growth and industrial development.

The engagement reaffirmed both countries’ shared interest in building a forward-looking trade partnership that enhances private sector collaboration and supports sustainable industrial advancement.
