Ghanaian boxer Isaac Dogbe pays courtesy call of former Prez. Kufuor

Ghana’s latest boxing sensation, WBO World Super Bantam weight champion Isaac Dogbe, on Monday afternoon paid a courtesy call on former President John Kufuor at his residence. He was accompanied by an entourage that included his father, Paul Dobge and his public relations officer, Nana Akyere Agyako.

The WBO World Super Bantam weight champion used the occasion to show his World Super Bantam weight title to the former president who was full of smiles and delight on seeing the magnificent crown. President Kufuor used the occasion to thank the young boxing champion for bringing honour to our country and urged him to continue to work hard to bring more accolades to Ghana by capturing other world titles in his weight class. He advised the boxer to be highly focused and have a boxing mentor whom he would look up to and emulate, and even aspire to outclass the mentor’s achievements. The former president encouraged the boxer not to underrate himself.

Boxer Isaac Dobge used the occasion to inform President Kufuor of his next fight in Glendale, Arizona, USA which is his first title defense bout. His opponent in that title fight is Hidenori Otake, a Japanese. Mr. Dogbe notified Mr. Kufuor that he leaves for the USA on the 5th of August to prepare for the fight and get acclimatized with the hot climate of Arizona summers.

Mr. Kufuor on his part asked for God’s blessings for the boxer and his accompanying handlers and asked the latter to take good care of the young and dynamic boxer so he will be able to achieve more in his young career.
