Gifty Anti, Dr. Bettina Thrill Patrons At e-Ananse

It was all excitement at the e- Ananse libraries, both in Osu and Legon, last Thursday and Saturday as television personality, Oheneyere Gifty Anti and Dr, Bettina Ama Boohene-Andah, physician for former President John Agyekum Kufuor, took patrons through a book reading session.

The renowned writers took the opportunity to throw more light on their books: ‘A Bit Of Me’ and ‘The President’s Physician’, respectively.

Speaking in an interview with The New Publisher, Dr. Boohene-Andah urged young women not to let fear impede their dreams of attaining higher heights. She asked them to work hard and persevere in order to attain their goals of becoming successful personalities.

”Life is not easy, it has not been easy for everyone including some of us, it won’t be easy for everyone as well, so I urge each and every one to push harder. My first book was written to send a signal to society that, life has better prospects if you don’t give up. In my life, I have championed the aspect of mentoring everyone, especially female students to strive to achieve their vision.”

She further expressed her excitement over the establishment of e- Ananse libraries and advised leaders of the project to do all they can to sustain the name to impact the lives of young people positively.

She said the project, if handled well, could be extended to higher all learning institutions.

”I am extremely happy for this sort of project. I urge leaders of this noble reading session to push harder. It is a very good idea, reading culture among the youths seems to be lost but I strongly believe an initiative like this would see the resurface of reading,” she added.

Technology

Using her life as an example, the host of The StandPoint, Gifty Anti, urged patrons to press on in spite of life’s challenges, saying “we can overcome the hurdles in our lives and make use of our experiences to help others.”

She urged them to take advantage of technological advancement and globalization and not abuse it.

“We are in a lucky era with the advancement of technology and globalization. We can see how leaders are shaping the world. We must take action to thrive and not allow technology to destroy us,” she indicated.

Citing her personal experiences in life, she said: “I do not consider it a waste of time. I picked up lessons which have enhanced my life.”

‘A Bit of Me’, which has become number 1 new release on Amazon less than a week of its release, delves into the untold story of her life.
