The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) is seeking to establish November as Ghana’s dedicated trade and investment month, as it moves to reposition the country’s investment narrative and attract fresh domestic and international capital.
Speaking at the official media launch of the Invest Ghana Summit 2026 and the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards in Accra, GIPA Chief Executive Officer Simon Madjie said the maiden summit is being designed as a nationally branded platform to showcase investment opportunities and position Ghana as a competitive destination for capital.
“Just as they approach December for all the things that they have to do in December, they should look at the business side first,” Mr Madjie said, explaining the vision behind the summit.
He said the initiative is intended to become a permanent feature of Ghana’s investment calendar, bringing investors into direct contact with opportunities across the economy.
“We want November to be the trade and investment month for Ghana where people are coming into this country,” he said.
The summit, scheduled to coincide with the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards, will move beyond the traditional focus on corporate recognition to actively market Ghana’s investment proposition.
According to Mr Madjie, the summit’s first day will focus on major sectors including manufacturing, communications, banking, mining, critical minerals, oil and gas, while the second day will spotlight investment opportunities across Ghana’s regions.
“What is novel about this summit is that the day two of the summit will be dedicated to the opportunities in our regions,” he said.
The initiative comes as Ghana seeks to leverage improving economic conditions and renewed investor interest to increase foreign direct investment.
Mr Madjie said GIPA expects the summit to generate concrete outcomes, including companies signing memoranda of understanding, declaring investment intentions and taking steps towards establishing operations in Ghana.
“Ghana, as part of the globe, we are all competing for capital,” he said, stressing the need for the country to actively market its opportunities.
He added that the broader objective is to ensure investors do not only hear about Ghana’s economic progress, but come to see the opportunities for themselves.
