The Ghana Police Service has arrested Grace Siaw, the girlfriend of Daniel Febiri, also known as Brimah, the prime suspect in the murder of Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly called Nana Pooley.
Brimah reportedly fled after the incident, prompting a police manhunt. According to an update on Asante Kotoko’s official X page, Siaw allegedly hid Brimah between February 4 and 17 and helped him escape to Senegal through Côte d’Ivoire. She was arraigned on February 25 and remanded. Her next court appearance is scheduled for today, with further updates expected.
Nana Pooley’s tragic death has deeply affected the Ghanaian football community. He was fatally stabbed two weeks ago during Asante Kotoko’s Matchday 19 fixture against Nsoatreman FC. His passing has sparked widespread shock and grief among fans and football stakeholders.
Meanwhile, preparations are underway for his burial on March 6. Alex Manu, Chairman of Asante Kotoko Circles, confirmed the arrangements for Pooley’s final farewell.
As investigations continue, authorities remain focused on apprehending Brimah and bringing all those involved to justice.
