Edward Bawa, Group Chief Executive Officer of GOIL PLC, has announced that systems at Tema Port have been restored, allowing fuel loading operations to resume.
In a brief update shared on social media on Monday, March 9, the GOIL CEO indicated that normal operations had resumed after a temporary disruption. GOIL and Star Oil Ghana had earlier raised concerns about fuel supply challenges linked to the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS).
That position, however, was rejected by Ghana Link Network Services Ltd., which stated that the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS) was not responsible for the recent fuel supply disruptions reported by some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
Ghana Link Network Services described allegations circulating in both traditional and social media suggesting that the ICUMS platform had been down since March 6 as “false, misleading, and wholly without basis.”
GOIL expressed appreciation to stakeholders and customers for their patience during the disruption and assured them that operations had returned to normal.
“System restored. Loading has resumed. Thank you for your patience and support,” the message said.
The announcement indicates that fuel loading activities—essential for supplying petroleum products to distribution outlets—are now back on track.
GOIL, one of Ghana’s leading indigenous oil marketing companies, operates fuel depots and service stations across the country, supplying petroleum products to businesses and consumers.
