The ancient skies were calm and bright,
A soothing balm for weary nights.
The winds whistled low, in a gentle hush.
As stable weather wrapped the land in cozy lush.
The good old days, oh the good old days,
When community was strong and love was real.
We worked together, side by side,
Helping each other, without a slide.
That was the era of benkum dware nifa, na nifa nso adware benkum.
In the communal bonds, we felt a sense of belonging.
Mothers shared children and every child, a mother’s loving.
Parenting was shared and laced in grace
And rewards and lessons set in place.
Those were the days,
When tradition was passed in plays
And children gathered by the fires to hear the tales
In the tales of tradition were the stories told.
Keeping warmth when the nights were cold.
We shared meals and brought families and friends together.
Showing kindness and love that made all glad and better.
Collective comfort was the guiding theme.
And the community love, every child’s warm dream.
Strangers welcomed with open doors and hearts.
No questions asked, just a warm smile,
A sense of belonging all the while.
Neighbours looked out for each other’s sake.
Standing together through thick and thin,
And supporting each other, as family and kin.
In those days, life’s simplicity shone,
And love’s true essence was forever known,
Let’s hold on to the memories of love’s pure splash,
And strive to build a world where love’s impact will radiantly flash.
As we relish memories of the Good Old Days.
