Highlife Star Dada KD Dead

Renowned Ghanaian Highlife Musician Nana Kwaku Duah, widely known as Dada KD, has passed away at the age of 56.

The cause of his death is yet to be officially confirmed.

According to his manager, Clarence Kenneth Ekow Peterson, also known as King Pee, the music legend died on Friday, May 16, 2025, around 4:00 PM while on oxygen support at a hospital in Gbawe.

In an interview on Adom FM, King Pee shared that before being admitted, Dada KD was turned away by three hospitals due to the unavailability of doctors. Sadly, he was pronounced dead shortly after finally receiving medical attention.

Earlier in the day, Dada KD reportedly complained of mild malaria symptoms but remained stable. However, his condition worsened unexpectedly, prompting an urgent rush to nearby hospitals.

“We did everything we could. He was strong in the morning, but things changed so quickly. Sadly, he couldn’t survive,” King Pee said in the interview.

Dada KD was best known for timeless songs like Fatia Fata Nkrumah, Ene Menye, Tekyere Ma, Wosuro a Wondi, and Honey Love. His soulful voice, deep lyrics, and dedication to Highlife music made him a beloved figure in Ghana’s music scene.

He was scheduled to perform in London on May 25 alongside artists like Obrafour, Slim Buster, and Kojo Blakk.
