HORROR! Dad ties 6-year old stepson to moving quad bike and drags his body on the streets of Accra

A middle-aged man living with a disability, whose name has not yet been disclosed, has been apprehended by concerned residents and later handed over to police at North Legon after allegedly tying his six-year-old stepson to a quad bike and dragging him along the ground, causing severe injuries.

A video circulating on social media platform X, shared by user SikaOfficial on May 4, 2026, showed the man believed to be the child’s stepfather, tying the boy to a quad bike (a motorized, four-wheeled vehicle) and dragging him along the ground as the bike moved at speed. The child was seen crying and struggling in visible pain during the heartless act.

The action quickly prompted immediate intervention from residents in the area, who confronted the suspect.

During preliminary questioning by residents, the suspect reportedly admitted to the act. He explained that he acted out of frustration due to repeated complaints about the child’s behaviour.

According him, there has been repeated complaints from neighbours that the child had been entering nearby homes, swimming in private pools, and allegedly stealing metal items which he later sold as scrap.

This lead him to punishing the boy in such violent manner.

He said, “It’s not like I intentionally did what I did. I was there when I was called that my son had broken into someone’s house by jumping the wall and went to swim in their pool. I don’t know where. I was there when my wife brought the complaint. This is not the first time; it has happened like 3 or 4 times. I have been warning him to stop.”

It was visibly seen the child sustained serious bodily injuries at his back and is now receiving medical attention.

Police have not yet disclosed the suspect’s identity, but investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, including possible charges.
