Ghanaian music star Black Sherif has strongly denied claims that he fakes his streaming numbers to appear more successful.
The Second Sermon and Soja hitmaker called the accusations “ridiculous” and said his success is the result of real hard work and passion.
Black Sherif is currently enjoying massive success with his second album, Iron Boy. The album is making waves both in Ghana and internationally.
Right now, six of his songs are holding the top six spots on Boomplay and Apple Music Ghana’s Top 100 charts. Iron Boy also debuted at number 6 on Spotify’s UK Top Debut Albums chart and number 10 on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
On Audiomack alone, the album has gained over 80 million streams since its release.
Despite these achievements, some people believe Black Sherif’s rise is too fast to be real. They think he may be using artificial ways to boost his numbers. But in an interview with Graphic Showbiz on Monday, June 9, Black Sherif strongly rejected those views.
“Honestly, that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard,” he said. “My success is 100 percent real. I give everything, my energy, emotions, and time; to my music.”
He added that he has gained fans through honesty and effort, not tricks.
“I’ve built my audience through consistency and being true to myself. My music is real, and that’s why people connect with it,” he said.
He ended by saying, “Anyone who thinks I buy fake streams doesn’t know how much I love music or how hard I work.”
Black Sherif’s words show he is not just defending his numbers, but also protecting his passion, talent, and truth.
