Ghanaian media personality and entrepreneur Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, has revealed that she was once homeless and unsure about her future, urging the youth not to give up on themselves.
In a Facebook post on May 30,2025, Delay reflected on her early struggles. Delay’s emotional message didn’t stop there. She spoke about her struggles as a young woman, being homeless and confused about what to do with her life. She had no place to stay and no clear direction.
“I’m talking about just 2004. I had nowhere to live and didn’t know what do with my life. I’m sitting here right now, wondering what I did right for God to be this merciful to me”, she wrote
In the heartfelt post, she also opened up about the painful beginnings of her journey. She remembered a time when even getting a decent meal was difficult. Now, over 20 years later, her food company, Delay Foods, has grown stronger and bigger.
“It feels like just yesterday when I couldn’t afford a decent meal. Today, the small food business I started, Delay Foods, now has 10 product variants! And we’re just getting started!”, she stated.
Her journey from sleeping without food or shelter to building a successful brand has inspired many. It is a reminder that no situation is permanent and that with faith, strength, and patience, things can change.
Ending her message, Delay shared a touching note to those who feel like giving up: “Do not give up on yourself. Help is coming!”
Delay’s story is a strong reminder that struggles can turn into strength. Her words have touched the hearts of many, especially young people. She proves that no matter how bad things get, it’s possible to rise, rebuild, and shine.
