I Want Partey to Stay- Arsenal’s Arteta

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has played a key role for Arsenal this season, and manager Mikel Arteta wants him to remain at the club.

Partey’s current five-year contract, which he signed after joining from Atletico Madrid, ends in June.

Though he struggled with injuries in previous seasons, this has been his best year since arriving at Arsenal. He has made 51 appearances in all competitions, his highest since joining the team.

Speaking at a press conference before Arsenal’s final game of the season against Southampton, Arteta praised Partey’s form and reliability. “This has been his most consistent season,” Arteta said.

“The way he’s played and his availability have been exceptional. He’s very important to us. I want him to stay.”

Partey, now 31, helped Arsenal reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2009 and played a key role in their Premier League campaign. His leadership and strength in midfield have impressed both fans and his manager.

With his contract ending soon, Arsenal is reportedly in talks to extend it. The club may offer him a one-year deal with an option for another year. Even though teams in the Saudi Pro League and Atletico Madrid are showing interest, Partey seems open to staying if both sides can agree on salary and contract length.

In 51 games, Partey has scored four goals and provided three assists. His experience and steady performances make him a valuable part of the team, and losing him would be a big blow. Arteta’s clear support suggests Partey will remain a key player for Arsenal next season.
