Singer and songwriter Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, better known by his stage name Mr. Eazi says his decision to go into entrepreneurship was inspired by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.
In an interview shared on Instagram on August 26, 2025, the Afrobeats star revealed that at the age of 15, he dreamed of becoming a businessman like Dangote, not a musician.
The Nigerian star revealed that his interest in business started at a very young age. He explained that at just 15 years old, he was inspired by Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, to follow an entrepreneurial path.
“I didn’t want to be an artiste; I wanted to be an entrepreneur since I was 15. I just wanted to be Aliko Dangote, who is the richest black person in the world,” Mr. Eazi said.
According to him, music was never his first dream. His journey into the industry began unexpectedly while he was a student at an engineering school. He started organising small parties for his classmates to create fun moments outside their academic routines. Those parties gradually grew into concerts and festivals, which eventually led him into recording studios.
Mr. Eazi also recalled how his music gained international attention. He shared that his first commercial performance happened in 2015 after legendary American singer Lauryn Hill invited him to perform at the Kings Theatre in the United States. At that time, he had no manager and had not even fully decided to become a professional artiste.
“In 2015, Lauryn Hill reached out and wanted me to perform in the Kings Theatre. That was my first time playing in the USA. I had no manager, just a guitar. It was surreal when she told me she liked my performance,” he recounted.
Beyond music and entrepreneurship, Mr. Eazi has also made headlines for his personal life. He recently tied the knot with Temi Otedola, daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola. The white wedding ceremony took place in Iceland at the famous Hallgrimskirkja Church in Reykjavik.
The church, decorated with flowers, was closed to the public to keep the ceremony intimate. Despite being private, the event still attracted big names. Guests included comedian Broda Shaggi, Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, Temi’s sister DJ Cuppy, and their mother.
Some rare glimpses of the ceremony were shared online after Broda Shaggi posted short clips on his Instagram Story, showing him celebrating with Mr. Eazi and Dangote in Iceland.
Mr. Eazi and Temi’s romance has long been in the public spotlight. In April 2022, they announced their engagement when Temi posted a video of the proposal on Instagram, exciting fans across the world.
