I Will Never Lobby For a Coaching Job – Evans Adotey

Evans Adotey, head coach for the national female under-17 team, the Black Maidens, has said, he will never lobby for any coaching job at this stage of his career, having led the team to the quarter finals of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Under-17 World Cup in Uruguay.

Coach Adotey, in an interview after the maidens return to Ghana said, he was ready to continue with the job, if the authorities deem it fit, but would not lobby for extension of his mandate.

“At this stage, I will never lobby for a coaching job. I am into the system as a national coach. I am ready to continue with my job, but if they think otherwise, that is fine. I am available for the national coaching job as well as club job,” he added.

He added that, “I appreciate my girls for the work they did to raise the flag of Ghana high, though our target wasn’t met, we have been to the quarter finals for the previous editions and we wanted to go further this time, but it wasn’t the case, we had targeted the semi-finals.

The Black Maidens lost to Mexico by 2:4 on penalties in the knock-out stage, after winning all three group games to top the group with nine points scoring ten goals in the process.
