I won’t cheat again; I don’t want ‘wahala’- Davido

Award-winning Nigerian music star, David Adedeji Adeleke OON, better known as Davido, has announced that he is leaving his past mistakes behind and has no plans to cheat again.

In an interview on The Breakfast Club posted on YouTube on April 8^th 2025, the “Timeless” hitmaker opened up about his past experiences, including the scandals involving women, and how these have influenced his decision to change.

Davido shared some personal insights, explaining how he grew up seeing complicated relationships in his family.

“My uncle, who’s a governor, has two wives. Another uncle had several wives who all lived together and got along, but despite the money, there was always drama. I’d rather live like my friends who have fewer problems,” he said, adding that his past experiences taught him valuable lessons.

The singer made it clear that he’s committed to living a more stable and faithful life.

“I’m not cheating again. I don’t want wahala (trouble). I have five kids with four women,” he admitted, acknowledging the challenges he faced in his previous relationships.

Davido’s decision to change was also influenced by witnessing the struggles within his uncles’ polygamous families. One of his most publicized scandals involved his alleged French lover, Ivana Bay, and U.S.-based model Anita Brown in June 2023. Both women claimed that Davido impregnated them and pressured them to abort the pregnancies.

Now, Davido is focused on creating a harmonious family life. He shared his relief at the positive relationship between his wife and children, noting that there was a time he was even afraid to bring his other children around. The singer’s decision to embrace a more faithful lifestyle marks a new chapter in his life.
