Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman will be unavailable for Feyenoord’s crucial second-leg tie against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League next week due to suspension.
The 20-year-old picked up a yellow card during the first-leg encounter on Wednesday night, resulting in an accumulation that rules him out of the return fixture.
Inter Milan dominated the game but had to wait until the 38th minute to break the deadlock. French forward Marcus Thuram expertly converted a precise cross from Nicolo Barella to give the visitors the lead.
Early in the second half, Lautaro Martinez doubled the advantage, finishing off a well-timed pass from Piotr Zielinski in the 50th minute.
Osman received his booking in the 76th minute, compounding Feyenoord’s woes as they now prepare for the return leg without one of their key attacking threats. His absence is a significant setback for the Dutch side, who face an uphill battle after falling 2-0 in the first leg.
Feyenoord must now regroup and strategize for a challenging second leg, knowing they will need a remarkable performance to make a comeback against the top Italian team.”
