South African rap star Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, professionally known as Nasty C, has addressed his feud with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, saying he is willing to meet Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie to settle their differences.
In an interview with Joy Prime’s Roselyn Felli on the Changes show, Nasty C explained that he was misunderstood by Sarkodie and his team, which sparked reactions on social media.
According to Nasty C, Sarkodie’s response to his freestyle was “a little spicy,” but he is not upset about it.
He said, “A lot of things got lost in translation. I don’t know if he misunderstood it or someone was in his ear and toning the wrong message but his response to the song that I put out was a little spicy. So I don’t know where his head is at the moment but I’m not really worried about it.”
He revealed that since the incident in 2022, they have not had any conversation to settle the matter. However, Nasty C is open to resolving the issue and “smoke the peace pipe” if Sarkodie’s team arranges a meeting.
“No one has organized that sit down yet and we’re both just busy with our lives. If he wants us to have a sit-down and have a chat, why not,” he emphasized.
When asked about a possible collaboration, Nasty C said he isn’t sure and would prefer they resolve their differences first.
The feud started in 2022 when Nasty C revealed in a freestyle, No Big Deal, that he had rejected Sarkodie’s collaboration requests because Sarkodie had refused to shake his hand when they first met. Sarkodie later responded with a diss track, Landlord, asserting his status as a rap legend and mocking Nasty C.
Nasty C admitted that his behavior was childish, saying his emotions were clouded by anger. He expressed respect for Sarkodie and stated that he would give his best verse if asked for a collaboration again.
