Ing Nana Poku Agyeman tops KNUST college of engineering donations

ING NANA Poku Agyeman has donated an amount of Ghc 50,000 to the Endowment Fund of the College of Engineering, KNUST in Kumasi.

Prof Kwabena Biritwum Nyarko, Provost of the College, said the the amount is the highest financial donation made to the fund by an individual, so far.

He therefore showered tons of praises on Ing Nana Poku Agyeman for his kind heart and readiness to contribute to the development of the college.

Prof. Biritwum Nyarko said Ing Nana Poku Agyeman, who is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineering, has the interest of the College at heart.

Ing Nana Poku Agyeman, who is an alumni of the College of Engineering, KNUST, on his part, said the donation was his way of giving back to the college.

According to him, he is now the Kumasi Metro Director of Roads, mainly because of the education that he received from the College of Engineering.

“I’m a civil engineer today because of the KNUST College of Engineering, where I received my education”, Ing Naana Poku Agyeman pointed out.

According to him, the timely donation was his own way of contributing to the proper transformation of the college to continue to train more engineers.

“This college has played a vital role in shaping my life and also helping me to become an important personality in society today”, he happily remarked.

Ing Nana Poku Agyeman therefore stated that it was in the right direction that he also contributed to the the college for them to train more engineers.

Dr. Yen Adams Sokama-Neuyam, Head of Department of Petroleum Engineering and Prof. Francis Kemausuor, Dean, Faculty of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering were there.

Also present at the donation ceremony on Tuesday were Dr. Francis Boafo Effah, Head of Department Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Registrar of the College of Engineering, Ms. Aida Saeed.
