John Jinapor task new PHDC Board to seek strategic investments for petroleum industry

Energy and Green Transition Minister, John Jinapor, has charged the newly inaugurated Board of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation to take bold and deliberate steps to attract major investments across the country’s energy value chain.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Minister emphasized that the Petroleum Hub project remains central to government’s ambition of positioning Ghana as a fully integrated energy and petroleum services centre for West Africa.

He urged the Board to pursue strategic partnerships and private capital that will drive growth in key areas such as petroleum storage, refining, transportation, and critical supporting infrastructure.

Mr. Jinapor said Ghana already serves, in many respects, as an energy hub for the sub-region—exporting electricity and petroleum products to neighbouring countries. He noted that operationalising the PHDC will further solidify the country’s strategic position and unlock new economic opportunities.

The newly inaugurated Board is chaired by George Blay-Morkeh, with Dr. Toni Aubynn serving as Acting CEO. Other members include David Ampofo, Francis Tettey-Sackey, Patrick Ofori, Abednego Akuteck, and Dr. Mizpah Ama Dziedzorm Rockson.

The Ministry is confident that the collective expertise of the Board will help steer the Corporation toward achieving its mandate and advancing Ghana’s energy transformation agenda.
