The wife of renowned Ghanaian journalist Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii, Miracle Adoma has shared an important update about her husband’s worsening eye condition, revealing that he has undergone critical surgery in Dubai to save his vision.
On her official Facebook page, Miracle, who also serves as the Benkumhene of Gomoa Amanful, posted a video documenting their journey to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The couple traveled there for Kofi Adomah’s critical eye surgery following the severe injury he sustained in a shooting incident.
The footage shows them arriving at a top-tier medical facility in Dubai, where doctors subjected Kofi Adomah to a series of eye tests and scans before his surgery. He underwent Corneal Topography, a specialized imaging procedure that helps diagnose eye diseases and guide treatment.
Doctors also placed him inside a Philips CT Scanner to assess any lingering damage in his injured eye. Later, Kofi Adomah appeared in dark sunglasses, sitting in the hospital lobby while waiting for the procedure.
Meanwhile, Miracle entered the Surgery Booking Department, where she completed the arrangements for his operation. Surgeons plan to remove gunpowder residue from his eye in hopes of restoring his vision.
Kofi Adomah’s struggle to regain his sight began in December 2024, when gunmen shot him in the face during the Kwafie Festival in Dormaa Ahenkro, Bono Region. Doctors at a local medical facility confirmed that the bullet had severely damaged his eye, putting him at risk of permanent blindness.
News of his condition sparked widespread sympathy and financial support. Prominent businessman Ibrahim Mahama reportedly donated $115,000 to help cover his medical expenses. However, after medical specialists discovered that his other eye had also suffered damage, the couple needed more funds for additional surgery.
To bridge the financial gap, Ghanaian content creator Magraheb, a close friend of Kofi Adomah, launched a GoFundMe campaign. So far, the fundraiser has collected over €5,000, which will contribute toward the remaining surgeries required to restore the journalist’s vision.
