The Presidency has officially dismissed news reports that Joselyn Dumas, a popular actress and television host, has been appointed as the Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President.
“Miss Dumas has not been appointed to any such position. I can confirm that of the rest”, Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, told Myjoyonline.com in a chart about persons from the Creative space appointed to serve in the new government.
It is not yet clear the originator of the report that Joselyn Dumas had been appointed to the said office but there news congratulatory flyers all over social media and on even the platforms of some credible traditional media outlets.
A number of persons from various domains within the creative space have been appointed to sine President John Mahama took office on January 7 this year.
IN most instances, there has not been any official statement put out in the public by the Presidency but some way somehow, the reports get leaved and then are followed by congratulatory messages.
The fact that that government did not put out an information regarding the reported appointment of Miss Dumas was therefore not enough grounds to have doubted the initial reports.
It raged on for about two weeks with Joselyn Dumas herself not responding to it as a way of confirmation or denial in any significant way.
The response from Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu should bring some finality to the controversy.
