Judge Subpoenas 2 Doctors Over Fight

The Abeka District Court in Accra has ordered two medical doctors to appear before the court.

The court presided over by Ms. Victoria Quansah wants the doctors-Captain S. A. Adjetey from the 37 Military Hospital and one other from Maamobi Poly Clinic to assist the court in a matter before it.

The two are expected to speak to a medical report they had authored in a case in which one Tahiru Zibou Maiga aka Bedman is standing trial for causing harm to one Salifu Seidu aka Waiper over a lady with a broken bottle.

Although Captain S. A. Adjetey had earlier been invited by the court, he failed to show up when the matter was due for hearing last week.

The trial Magistrate however, ordered the registrar of the court to order the two doctors to appear on December 13, 2017.

It is the case of the prosecution led by Chief Inspector Hanson Armah that Bedman on March 8 this year at Lapaz also in Accra during  a misunderstanding caused harm to the victim.

The facts of the case are that the complainant Adanu Seidu is a trader resident at Flat Top near Abeka whist Bedman is alos a student staying at Fadama.

On the said date, at about 3:30am a misunderstanding arose between Waiper and Bedman over a lady which resulted in a fight.

In the process, the accused inflicted wounds on the victim twice on his right hand and on his back with a broken bottle.

Waiper fell down and became unconscious, whilst on the ground helpless, Bedman who had left the scene returned and further attacked him on the ground.

The victim was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital where he was admitted for almost a fortnight for treatment.

Wiaper had since been bed ridden and cannot do anything on his own.

Bedman went into hiding in Kumasi until about 11:30pm on April 8 this year when he resurfaced at Akweteman a suburb of Achimota where he was arrested and in his caution statement admitted the offence which sparked violence between some youth of Abeka and Fadama in March.
