Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the appointment of Julius Emunah as the club’s new Managing Director.
Emunah takes over from Delali Anku-Adiamah, whose contract was not renewed after it expired last month. In a statement on Tuesday February 3rd 2026, the club said, “the Board of Directors has expressed its full confidence in Emunah’s ability to steer Hearts of Oak into a new era of professionalism, transparency and competitiveness, in line with international best practices.”
The statement added, “As Managing Director, Emunah will oversee the club’s administrative, commercial and sporting operations, working closely with the technical team, players, supporters, sponsors and other stakeholders to ensure sustainable growth and long-term success.”
Before joining Hearts of Oak, Emunah worked with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for eight years in various capacities.
In 2020, he was appointed Club Licensing Manager after serving as Safety and Security Officer for both CAF and the GFA. Four years later, he was reassigned as Competitions Manager, a position he held until resigning to take up the new role at Hearts of Oak.
Prior to his time at the GFA, Emunah, a trained broadcast journalist, served as Deputy Administrative Manager for the National Sports Authority in the Central Region for two years. He later moved to the Western Region, where he became General Secretary for the Regional Football Association.
Since 2020, Emunah has also played several roles for CAF, working across inter-club competitions, AFCON qualifiers, the African Nations Championship (CHAN), and the African Games.
Educationally, Emunah earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Cape Coast and a Master’s degree in Sports Management and Legal Skills from FC Barcelona’s ISDE Law Business School in Spain.
