Kassim Adams Suffers Injuries to Several Ligaments

German Bundesliga side TSG Hoffeinheim have confirmed Ghana defender Kassim Adams will be out for some weeks after suffering injuries to several ligaments in the club’s 3-1 victory over Freiburg on Saturday.

The 23 year old limped off the game in the 44th minute after clashing dangerously with a Freigburg midfielder in the middle of the park.

Kassim Adams was initially treated by the team doctor, who then decided it best to send him to the hospital for further tests.

There it was revealed that he had suffered injuries to several ligaments in his ankle.

The new arrival from Young Boys will not only be out of action for TSG, he will also miss out on international duty.

”All this absurd misfortune we’ve faced is mitigated by the fact that we’re fortunate enough to have a number of extraordinary defensive players in our squad, who can all slot in and adapt to different systems,” said Alexander Rosen, the Director of Football at Hoffeinheim.

”Given the challenges we’re facing, it’s so vitally important that we’ve put together a squad that has such balance and such depth. We’re missing an entire Bundesliga line-up at the moment, a very good Bundesliga line-up at that, but we’re handling this difficult situation in the same way we’ve always dealt with adversity in the past,” he added.

“We’re not going to sit around complaining. We’re going to stick together and fight all the harder for the lads who aren’t able to be out there on the pitch with us. Despite our unbelievably bad luck with injuries, we can still put out a very strong team, a team that has an incredible strength of character. That was there for all to see yesterday,” stated the director of football.

It is still yet to be known how long Adams will be out but he will miss the next two games for club and country.
