KATH opens house officer’s flat

THE ACCOMMODATION challenge at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi has been partly solved now following the opening of a modern-looking House Officer’s flat complex at Bantama.

The three storey building, which is located at the Bantama Staff Quarters premises, was built at an estimated amount of GHC 5 million.

The building boasts of 47 flats, a spacious car park, adequate security and all the other amenities needed for such a modern building.

Speaking at the grand opening ceremony, Dr. Oheneba Danso, the KATH Chief Executive Officer expressed joy at the opening of the building.

He said the accommodation problems that the hospital faced in providing shelter for house officers has been partly solved.

The KATH CEO disclosed that the beautiful building has all the modern facilities that would make its inhabitants to feel comfortable.

Dr. Oheneba Danso therefore admonished those that would live in the new building to take good care of it to ensure it’s longevity.

According to the KATH CEO, the hospital used to spend a lot of money to provide decent accommodation for their house officers.

He said with the opening of the imposing building, KATH could now save some money and invest in other equally important projects.
