Kidnapped NPP Man Not Dead

OSEI KWAKU, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Polling Station Coordinator for Kokobra in Ejisu, who was reportedly kidnapped on Tuesday, is alive, the Ghana Police Service has stated.

According to the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah, the victim was found on Wednesday, therefore reports that he had been killed should be rejected by the public.

The Police chief disclosed that Osei Kwaku said his kidnappers took him to several places and beat him mercilessly before they eventually abandoned him and fled from the scene.

COP Yeboah said the police are still treating the case as kidnapping, adding that the security agents would investigate the matter to get to the bottom of it and clear every doubts.

He said two suspects, Kwame Adom Boakye and George Appiah Kubi, all NPP members at Ejisu, who were arrested in connection with the kidnapping, have also been granted bail.

Kidnapping Incident

Osei Kwaku was said to be conducting the registration of NPP members at Kokobra on Tuesday when Boakye and Kubi, stormed the place with four macho men in a taxi cab.

The suspects quickly bundled Osei Kwaku into the waiting taxi cab and fled into thin air, sparking fears that perhaps the macho men had taken the life of Osei Kwaku.

Arrests

The police arrested suspects Boakye and Kubi and upon interrogation the accused persons, reportedly, said they only took Osei Kwaku to Onwe for party polling station register.

According to them, they left Osei Kwaku at Onwe, claiming that they did not kidnap nor harm the NPP executive as the rumours in town suggest.
