Kudus Joins Tottenham, Says Goodbye to West Ham

Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has officially joined Tottenham Hotspur after completing a big-money move from West Ham United.

The 24-year-old signed a six-year contract with Spurs in a deal worth over €63 million (about £55 million), making him the most expensive Ghanaian player in Premier League history.

Kudus took to Facebook to thank West Ham and their fans for their support.

“Pleasure to be a Hammer running life’s Marathon. Thank you for the warm seat through it all. Best wishes for the season & the future,” he wrote.

He added hashtags like #TMC and #kudusdream to his emotional farewell post.

Speaking to Tottenham’s media team, Kudus described himself as “team-oriented” and focused on helping Spurs succeed in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

“My personal goals are around helping the team get as many points as we can, to be as high as we can.To help Spurs perform in the Premier League and go as far as we can in the Champions League,” he said.

Although Chelsea showed interest in him, Kudus chose Spurs as his preferred destination.

Kudus joined West Ham from Ajax in August 2023 and quickly became a fan favourite. Known for his creativity, energy, and goal-scoring ability, he played 45 matches in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and assisting 6.

His efforts helped the Hammers finish in the top half of the Premier League and reach the latter stages of the UEFA Europa League.

However, another report mentioned that Kudus made 80 appearances for West Ham, scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists, showing how much of an impact he made in just one season.

His football journey began at Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy. He later moved to FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark before joining Ajax in the Netherlands. From there, he made the big move to the Premier League with West Ham, and now he continues his journey at Tottenham.

Kudus’s contract with Spurs runs until 2031, and he is expected to make his debut against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup final.
