Kudus struggles in 2024-25 League Season

Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has struggled to replicate his debut-season form in the 2024-25 English Premier League campaign.

After an impressive first year at West Ham, where he scored eight goals and provided six assists in 33 games, Kudus has managed just three goals and one assist in 22 league matches this season.

His struggles are further highlighted by an unusual statistic, he has struck the woodwork more times than any other EPL player.

Kudus has hit the post or crossbar five times, tying with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, who has also endured a tough second half of the season.

Six players, including Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo of AFC Bournemouth, have hit the woodwork four times. Among them are Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, the league’s top scorer.

Despite his dip in form, Kudus remains a key player for Ghana and is expected to join the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar on March 21 and 24. He will aim to rediscover his best form as Ghana pushes for a spot in the tournament.
