Kurl Songx is back

IT all seemed smooth sailing when Kurl Songx won MTN Hitmaker competition in 2016 and in 2017, crowned his entry into the music scene with his controversial hit song, Jennifer Lomotey which featured Sarkodie.

And didn’t that get him the recognition every budding artiste craved for? He got that and more. He got loads of attention and plaudits; and many, including the artiste himself, anticipated a flourishing music career afterwards.

But that didn’t happen. His music journey has been one of twists and turns and Kurl Songx has not been able to produce another banger since then.

Well, it look the long wait is over as Kurl Songx has announced he is set to drop another hit with his latest single, Wow which was officially released on Friday, July 1.

In a conversation with Graphic Showbiz on Saturday, July 2, the artiste who is credited for songs such as Feeling, Whistle, Trumpet and Snap Chat said that the long wait is over for another hit material from him.

He explained that the latest piece, produced by MOG Music was a demonstration of the lessons and experiences gained being in the ‘wilderness’.

“For those who think that Kurl Songx has lost his steam because I have not been at the top of my music business should just relax since the answer to all the questions is here with Wow.

“One may wonder why I’m very confident Wow will do well since most of my songs after Jennifer Lomotey didn’t make any impact, my answer is simple, ‘I went back to my roots’ for a good collabo with my former colleague on Highly Spiritual label, Mr Drew who worked with me on Wow,” he said.

The duo of Kurl Songx and Mr Drew on Wow give a good indication they have buried their differences.

With Afrobeats gaining a massive grip on music, Wow effortlessly flows on the popular beats with the singers, complementing it with their “vibes” to their women.

They both share their wish to make their women happy and would go to every length including giving them special Friday night treats.

Kurl Songx told Graphic Showbiz that he is happy to have Mr Drew on board his new song since he is very talented.

“Mr Drew is a whole package and featuring him was a good choice. Also, this will likely erase the perception that I still hold a grudge against my former record label,” he stated.
