Late Lawyer Ali Adam Not Part of Agradaa’s Case

Legal counsel for evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has dismissed rumours linking the sudden death of lawyer Ali Adam to her defence team.

Speaking to Ghana Weekend on August 31st, 2025, Agradaa’s lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, explained that while the late Adam was a respected colleague in their law firm, he never worked on any matter involving Agradaa, who is currently serving a 15-year jail term for fraud and charlatanic advertisement.

“I want to emphasise that Ali was not involved in the team that worked on Mama Pat’s case. In light of this, I urge the public to refrain from speculating about any connection between his passing and his professional work.

Death is an inevitable part of life, and we will all face it someday. Let’s be kind and respectful in our comments, especially considering Ali’s young family. May his soul rest in peace,” Baffour stated.

His statement followed widespread social media claims that Agradaa’s lawyer had passed away. The confusion, he explained, likely came from the fact that Adam and other lawyers shared the same workplace, which led many to assume that he was involved in her case.

Baffour stressed that it was important for the public to avoid speculations, especially at such a sensitive time.

According to family sources, Ali Adam collapsed while having breakfast on the morning of August 30, 2025. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. As a devout Muslim, he was buried the same day in line with Islamic tradition.

For his colleague Baffour, the news was particularly shocking. He revealed that just hours before Adam’s death, the two had spoken on the phone. Around 8:00 a.m., Adam had called to share joyful news: some interns from their law firm had passed their final bar exams and were preparing to be called to the bar.

“It is with great sadness that I confirm the passing of our colleague, Ali Adam, who was a valued member of our law firm. He passed away yesterday morning. I had the privilege of speaking with Ali just hours before his passing, around 8:00 am. He called to share the exciting news that some of our interns had successfully passed their final exams and would soon be called to the bar.

We had planned to celebrate this achievement and were set to meet at the office at 10:00 am to review some documents.

Tragically, shortly after our conversation, I received news of his passing. I was in shock, having spoken with him less than an hour earlier.

Upon rushing to his house, I learned that he went off while having breakfast and was pronounced dead at the hospital,” he recounted.

The unexpected death has left the entire firm shaken. Baffour described Adam as not only a dedicated professional but also a cheerful personality who encouraged younger lawyers.

Meanwhile, Nana Agradaa remains in the spotlight. On July 3, 2025, the Accra Circuit Court found her guilty of fraud and charlatanic advertisement after several complaints from victims who accused her of duping them under the guise of spiritual help. She is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence.
