Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress in the Greater Accra Region, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo is continuing her ‘Thank You Tour’ to constituents to express her heartfelt gratitude for entrusting her with their mandate for the third consecutive time.
The second phase of the visit to the constituents is expected to be in faces – each day and specific town the MP would be visiting. At each spot, she assured the constituents of renewed development efforts and stronger representation in Parliament.
The tour, which began last week, saw Hon. Ocloo visiting other communities she could not visit during the first phase, expressing her appreciation to party delegates, traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and the general electorate for the overwhelming support she received during the 2024 December elections.
Hon. Ocloo assured residents that key sectors such as education, healthcare, youth employment, and infrastructure development would remain top priorities in her agenda. She also hinted at new initiatives aimed at empowering women and the youth through skills training and entrepreneurship support.
At each stop, she was warmly received with traditional drumming, singing, and cheers, as locals expressed satisfaction with her performance in Parliament and as a constituency leader.
Some of the constituents who spoke during the tour lauded her humility and accessibility, urging her to continue advocating for the constituency on national platforms.
Today, we officially kick-started the second phase of our Thank You Tour across the Shai Osudoku Constituency. Together with Constituency and Branch Executives, we visited the communities of Lubuse, Ada Kope, Duffor, Mafikope, Volivo and Atrobinya.
The purpose of this tour remains unchanged: to express our heartfelt gratitude to the people for their unwavering support and to engage them directly on the pressing needs of their communities. Once again, the interactions were warm and insightful, as residents shared their concerns regarding infrastructure, education, health and opportunities for the youth.
I assured them of my continued commitment to addressing these needs through pragmatic steps that will bring meaningful development to their communities. Their feedback is invaluable and serves as a guiding light in shaping policies and interventions that reflect the aspirations of our people.
Phase II is yet another reminder that the strength of Shai Osudoku lies in our unity, resilience and shared vision of progress. Together, we will continue to build a constituency where growth and opportunities are accessible to all.
On Day 2 of the tour, she made it known that, “yesterday, we continued the second phase of our Thank You Tour with visits to the communities of McCarthykope, Kongo, New Jerusalem, Asutsuare Junction and Mueter. The purpose of this tour remains unwavering: to express our profound gratitude to the people for their trust and support, while also listening to their needs, sharing ideas and addressing their concerns. The engagements were enriching, as residents openly voiced their aspirations for better infrastructure, education, health services and sustainable livelihoods.
“I reassured them that these pressing concerns are not only acknowledged but are being addressed through pragmatic measures aimed at delivering tangible development. With a heart full of gratitude, I reaffirm my belief that only by working together can we build the Ghana we all desire. Unity, collaboration and resilience remain the pillars upon which we will continue to advance the progress of Shai Osudoku and contribute to the broader national agenda.”
On day 3 of the tour, in a communique signed by Dennis Adjannor Nartey, Communications Officer for Shai-Osudoku District, he indicated that, “in a demonstration of accountable leadership and deep appreciation to the people of Shai-Osudoku, the Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament, Hon.
