Linda Ocloo Embarks On ‘Thank-You Tour’, Vows Development For Shai-Osudoku Constituents

Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress in the Greater Accra Region, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo has commenced a ‘Thank You Tour’ to the constituents to express her heartfelt gratitude for entrusting her with their mandate for the third consecutive time.

The visit to the constituents is expected to be in faces – each day and specific town the MP would be visiting. At each spot, she assured the constituents of renewed development efforts and stronger representation in Parliament.

The tour, which began over the weekend, saw Hon. Ocloo visiting various communities across the constituency, expressing her appreciation to party delegates, traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and the general electorate for the overwhelming support she received during the December elections.

Hon. Ocloo assured residents that key sectors such as education, healthcare, youth employment, and infrastructure development would remain top priorities in her agenda. She also hinted at new initiatives aimed at empowering women and the youth through skills training and entrepreneurship support.

At each stop, she was warmly received with traditional drumming, singing, and cheers, as locals expressed satisfaction with her performance in Parliament and as a constituency leader.

Some of the constituents who spoke during the tour lauded her humility and accessibility, urging her to continue advocating for the constituency on national platforms.

In a Facebook post after the first day, the Greater Accra Regional Minister indicated that, “As part of my commitment to fostering closer ties with the people, I embarked on a Thank You Tour across several communities within the Shai Osudoku Constituency, together with some Constituency and Branch Executives. The tour covered the communities of Lagmɛdɔ, Agortor, Huapa, Agbekotseko, Fɔkpe, Tsumkpo and Tokpo.

“This exercise was not only to express my heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support and confidence reposed in me, but also to engage directly with the people, listen attentively to their concerns and assure them of the pragmatic steps already being taken to address their developmental needs.

“The communities raised critical issues ranging from infrastructure, health, education, youth empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. I assured them that government remains resolute in implementing policies and projects that will uplift the living standards of our people. In particular, measures have been initiated to address urgent needs such as access to quality social amenities, improved road networks and opportunities for the youth to thrive.

“I extend my sincere appreciation to all the community members, traditional leaders, and party executives who joined us in these fruitful engagements. Together, we shall continue to build a constituency and a region that reflect our shared aspirations of progress, inclusiveness and sustainable development.”

On Day 2 of the tour, she made it known that, “despite the heavy rains, our resolve to engage with the people of Shai Osudoku remained unshaken. The weather, though challenging, could not deter us from continuing the tour. Together with Constituency and Branch Executives, we visited our cherished communities, where the warmth and enthusiasm of the people far outweighed the storms.

“The resilience and commitment shown by our community members, who defied the rains to join us, reaffirm my belief in the unbreakable spirit of Shai Osudoku. Their concerns and aspirations were once again received with keen attention and I assured them that the development agenda we have set in motion will not waver, regardless of the obstacles.

“Indeed, the downpour became a symbol of renewal and blessing, reminding us that the journey of development, like the rain, nourishes and strengthens our path to progress.”

For Day 3, she added, “we continued our engagements with the resilient people of Shai Osudoku. Together with Constituency and Branch Executives, we visited more communities to once again express our gratitude for their unwavering support and to listen to their pressing needs.

“The interactions were both inspiring and insightful. Our people spoke passionately about the challenges confronting their communities, particularly in areas of education, infrastructure, health care and opportunities for the youth. I assured them that these concerns are at the heart of our developmental agenda and concrete steps have already been initiated to address them.

“What stood out on this day was the unity and determination of our people to work hand in hand with leadership for the progress of our constituency. Their faith in our collective vision is a constant reminder that together, we can achieve sustainable growth and development for Shai Osudoku.”
