Lost Libido Over Politics

A FORMER New Patriotic Party (NPP) NASARA Coordinator for Ashanti Region, Mohammed Abdul Hamid, has made some interesting revelations about how life in opposition could be hell to politicians.

According to him, the 2008 NPP electoral defeat came as a big blow to many party members, including his good self, because they thought at the time that the then NPP administration, led by Mr. Kufuor, had done a great job for the party to be retained in power.

Mohammed Hamid said party members were therefore expecting a landslide first round victory to in order to continue with their ‘good works’, only to be booted out in that election.

He disclosed sarcastically that the defeat had a serious toll on some male members of the party, to the extent that they couldn’t make love to their wives satisfactorily.

“The 2008 electoral defeat was like a shocker to some of us because the ex-President, John Agyekum Kufuor’s government did a lot for the country, including the introduction of the NHIS policy.

“So when the election results were announced and the NDC took power from the NPP it affected me personally as I even struggled to properly make love to my wife at night during that gloomy period.

“I bet you, that time if you should see me lying on bed with my wife; you wouldn’t be able differentiate between who was the man and who was the woman. I was shattered”, he told K.K. of Fox FM in Kumasi on Friday.

He therefore admonished NPP members to unite as a family and work together to jealously protect political power in 2020 in order to avoid the horrible situation he went through in 2008.

Interestingly, Hamid may be revisiting the gloomy days he hates to see as he was defeated in the NPP Ashanti Regional NASARA polls at Ejura on Saturday.
