‘Loud In Bukom 19’: …Shatta, Tinny, Others Thrill Fans

Ga Mashie, the heart of Accra, was brought to life Saturday night when proud sons of the land joined thousands of patrons at the Bukom Park to have fun during ‘Loud In Bukom’ concert 2019.

The event was part of activities lined up for the Ga Mashie community to mark the annual Homowo festival.
Homowo, or “Mocking Hunger” is a huge traditional festival for the Ga people of Accra and other places in the region.

The show started with a warm-up performance from a number of underground musicians who set the mood for the night.

Musicians like Wisa, Edem, Fameye, Shatta Wale and a host of others thrilled fans with exciting performances as they danced the night away.

The show also saw performances by DSP Kofi Sarpong, Teshie Boy, Efe Keyz, Wrowro Ho (Sister Akose) by Medikal x Agbeshie, and Mr. Drew, among others.

In all, it was as if a galaxy of stars had dropped at the park, for the historic concert put together by Loud Mix and Halifax Entertainment.

The concert was dubbed ‘Father and Son’ or Wale and Ale to commemorate the relationship between Tinny (the father) and Shatta Wale (the son).

To many, Tinny once again proved that he is the best when it comes to stage performance. For the one hour that he was on stage, there was no dull moment as he thrilled the audience with songs like “Mokola Kwakwe,” “I Believe I Can Fly,” “Ringtone” and a host of others.

Edem was the next and what a performance to put up? His dance moves, energy and all the hit songs he dropped were enjoyed by everyone. He performed songs like Over Me, Ghetto Arise, You dey Craze, Give It Up and more. There were equally good performances from the Fameye, Article Wan, and Larruso.

As would be expected, Shatta Wale showed his prowess as the current ‘African Dancehall King’ when he hit the stage. There was no doubt that Shatta Wale is the king of the street. The cheers from the audience were deafening and he rewarded them with a good show by keeping them on their feet till almost 7:00am Sunday.

The show was the fourth edition in a row. The first three editions 2016, 2017 and 2018, were exclusively organised by Halifax Entertainment under the name ‘Gamashi Homowo Bash’ but this year’s edition dubbed, ‘Loud In Bukom’, was jointly-organised with Loud Mix GH.
