Madrid Target Rodri, Liverpool Eye Olise

Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Manchester United are set for a busy period in the transfer market, with several big names being linked to potential moves across Europe and beyond.

According to reports, Real Madrid are preparing a huge £130 million bid for Manchester City’s Spanish midfielder Rodri.

The 29-year-old has been one of City’s most consistent performers in recent seasons, playing a key role in their domestic and European success. Madrid see him as a long-term replacement for their aging midfielders and are ready to test City’s resolve with a record offer.

Meanwhile, Manchester United defender Harry Maguire could be heading to Saudi Arabia. Both Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq are said to be interested in signing the 32-year-old England international. Although United have the option to extend Maguire’s contract beyond next summer, the club is reportedly unwilling to activate it. A move to the Saudi Pro League could mark a fresh start for the defender, who has struggled for consistent playing time at Old Trafford.

At Liverpool, plans are being made for the future as the club looks to identify a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, who turns 33 next year. Reports suggest that Liverpool are willing to spend £130 million on Bayern Munich’s French winger Michael Olise during the 2026 summer transfer window. However, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund insists Olise will remain with the German champions for many years, saying he can see him at the club for the “next seven, eight, nine years.”

Liverpool are also determined to keep Ibrahima Konate, despite interest from Real Madrid. The 26-year-old French defender has had a difficult start to the season, but the Reds are not planning to sell him and consider him part of their long-term plans.

In other transfer news, Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has expressed his support for current manager Ruben Amorim, believing he deserves a full season to prove himself. Meanwhile, former Barcelona coach Xavi has reportedly turned down approaches from Saudi clubs, hoping to keep himself available in case the United job opens up.

Elsewhere, Brentford are ready to pay £26 million for Villarreal’s 21-year-old striker Etta Eyong, and Barcelona plan to pursue Germany defender Nico Schlotterbeck, who will be a free agent next summer. Bayern Munich are eyeing AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan as a possible successor to veteran Manuel Neuer, while Inter Miami are in talks to sign Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon on a free transfer.
