Mahama Blows GHc5.5 Million Every Month Just On Party – Mustapha Gbande Reveals

Every month, President John Mahama directly gives out an amount of GH₵ 20,000 to support each of the 276 Constituency offices of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), summing up to an amount of GH₵ 5,520,000 per month, Mustapha Foyo Gbande, Deputy General Secretary (Operations) of the NDC has claimed in a video now gone viral.

“Today, as we speak, GH₵ 20,000 goes to the Constituency every month to service the Party and it comes straight from the President,” Gbande stated to an audience which appeared to be a selection of NDC members, Chief Executives appointed under the current regime and some Party leaders.

Gbande, in his speech, appeared to be encouraging his audience to exercise patience and be assured that the John Mahama led Government has neither abandoned nor will abandon any Party member.

He said the number of Government appointments that have gone to NDC members across the country since President Mahama took office is unprecedented in Ghana’s history.

Mustapha Gbande was quick to add that the 2024 electoral victory the NDC enjoyed, was not achieved only by the hard work of NDC members alone and that the Party had support from persons who are not necessarily NDC faithful therefore it is not out of place for some of such persons to be rewarded with Government appointments although a chuck of the appointments would be reserved for the core NDC family.

“For the first time in the history of our country, if you go to the Regions, about eight to nine Executives of every Region have been appointed into Government. And if you go to the Constituencies, about eight or ten executives of every single Constituency have been appointed into some office of Government at some level,”. Gbande stated.

He continued: “If your wife was not appointed, you yourself were appointed. He did so. For the first time, Regional Secretaries and a few chairmen assumed the responsibility of Regional Ministers,”

“As we speak, if you look at the forms and shapes of governance and governments that get formed, Ghana has never had the kind of government we have today. The support we got was so diverse that it didn’t just come from NDC people, so you realize that at one time he will appoint one stranger into our midst,” Gbande explained.

Mustapha Gbande reminded his audience of the efforts the John Mahama Government has put in place to make the country better since the Party took over the country:

“8 years of the government of President Akufo-Addo, Local Government was collapsed. The DCE’s have been given ranging from 10 million to 5 million cedis in the first and second quarter of the year. As we speak, School Feeding is successful, our children are eating very healthy, as we speak, egg is going to be added to the School Feeding programme of our children and food suppliers are getting paid.

“As we speak, as of today, we just launched that but persons who are going through the University, would not pay fees, all of whom their school fees have been paid. What the Government is doing is to freeze unnecessary expenditure and spend prudently so that we recover the economy on track then every other person can do business.

“As we speak, you cannot recruit without clearance from the Ministry of Finance. These things are done so that we can stabilize the economy in one year and see what happens in the second year. For the first time in the history of our country, young Sammy Gyamfi and his team, put together a GoldBod within three months four months and since I was born, for the first time I can say that Ghana is collectively and communicatively benefiting from the proceeds of our gold.

“That is what is keeping the Dollars even though it does not help the ‘burgars’ but at least it is keeping the stability of our country. I am saying these things to you to let you understand that we are between the high sea and a hard rock to please our members in the short term, to make a name that would lead us to the expected destination.”
