Mahama Fan Dies Mysteriously
FORMER PRESIDENT John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday briefly put his campaign tour of the Ashanti region on hold to mourn his late loyal supporter.
Identified as Hajiya Memuna, the late National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist, who was reportedly instrumental in the Mahama 2020 regional campaign tour, dropped dead in the thick of affairs.
According to reports, the hitherto hale and hearty Hajiya Memuna was on Tuesday afternoon part of a huge crowd to welcome the former president to the Central Mosque in the Asawase Constituency, when she suddenly collapsed.
After initial attempts to revive her failed, she was rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital, which is few minutes away from the Central Mosque, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Abass Nurudeen, the Ashanti Regional NDC Communication Director, has confirmed the report, saying the NDC and Mahama campaign team are in a mourning mood.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mahama briefly halted his campaign and visited Adukrom, where the family house of Hajiya Memuna is located, to mourn with the family.
The ex-president paid his last respect to Hajiya Memuna on Wednesday morning before her remains were finally interred at the Tafo Cemetery, and promised to attend the funeral of his late fan on Saturday, party sources told THE PUBLISHER.
