Man Kills Lover, Hides Her Body in Soakaway

A 26-year-old man, Kwabena Adjei, has been arrested for allegedly killing his 19-year-old Nigerian girlfriend, known only as Testimony, and hiding her body in a septic tank at Sunyani Magazine, near the Bono Regional Fire Command.

In a video that went viral, officers from the Ghana National Fire Service were seen assisting in retrieving the decomposed body from a septic tank.

According to reports, Adjei turned himself in to the police after claiming he was being haunted by Testimony’s ghost. He arrived at the station with his uncle and confessed to the crime.

Investigations revealed that during an argument, Adjei elbowed his girlfriend, causing her to collapse and die instantly.

Rather than reporting the incident, he kept the body in his room for three days before disposing of it in a septic tank.

The decomposed body was discovered on Friday February, 28th 2025.

Confirming the tragic incident, The Ghana National Fire Service took to their official X page,

“On Friday, February 28th, 2025, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) uncovered a nearly decomposed body of a young woman at Sunyani Magazine.

The Sunyani Municipal Fire Station, led by Station Officer Yahaya and later joined by Regional Operations Officer ADOII Ignatius Noekor, responded to the distress call at 5:30 PM.

Preliminary reports suggest the victim was murdered by her boyfriend and dumped into a septic tank approximately three weeks ago,” they wrote.

Adjei is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations. Authorities say Testimony had visited him twice before the tragic incident.

The case has left residents in shock, with many questioning what led to the fatal altercation. The police are expected to provide further details as investigations continue.
