MASLOC Boss Runs For Parliament …Goodies Flow For Nhyieaso NPP

The Chief Executive of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre  (MASLOC) Stephen Amoah is lacing boot to contest the Nhyiaeso Constituency parliamentary seat currently occupied by Kennedy Kankam, THE NEW PUBLISHER has gathered.

Both men are top members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and though the parliamentary primaries to elect a candidate is slated for April next year, a subtle but strategic campaign is underway is full swing as members of the Electoral College beam with chin-to-chin smiles.

Both the incumbent MP, Kennedy Kamkam and Stephen Amoah, have a huge support base and have demonstrated exceptional qualities of being great parliamentarians.

The decider, perhaps, would be which of the two men can best influence the delegates through whatever legitimate means possible.

Historically, the constituency has voted pro-NPP and it is most likely that any candidate that wins the primaries would win the main parliamentary elections.

Aware of this fact, both Amoah and Kankam are reported to have decided to go at any length, including spending some good amount of cash, to help woo the NPP delegates to vote for them in the impending primaries.

Kankam’s Cars

It would be recalled that Kennedy Kankam, some few months ago, distributed a number of brand new cars to some NPP members within the constituency, on a work-and-pay basis to help improve their lives.

This gesture, is certainly a credit to his campaign.

The sitting Nhyiaeso lawmaker was also in the news for positive reasons some months ago when he presented a big bus to the Nhyiaeso NPP Executives to help in the running of the party in the constituency.

MASLOC Loans

On the other hand, a good number of the NPP members in Nhyiaeso, are said to have benefited from various amounts of MASLOC loans and other facilities.

Though the loans and facilities did not come from the personal pocket of Stephen Amoah, and he may not have unfairly influenced the process, it still goes to his political credit because he is the Chief Executive of MASLOC and a blue-blood party man for that matter.

Stephen Amoah is also reported to have contributed immensely in the development of the constituency in recent times. For instance, he is reported to have hired a caterpillar to grade some bad roads in Nhyiaeso lately.

Political Pundits Prediction

Some political pundits in Kumasi have predicted that the NPP delegates in Nhyiaeso would definitely amass more wealth from the two combatants before and during the primaries.

According to them, the initial indications points to the fact that both Messrs Amoah and Kankam are determined to do whatever possible, including distributing more goodies to the delegates, to enable them win the NPP polls.
