Maurice Ampaw threatens to sue Medikal

Private Legal Practitioner and Founder of Legal Advocacy Foundation, Maurice Awpaw has threatened to sue Samuel Adu Frimpong publicly known as Medikal over the use of young children during late night performance.

The AMG signee at the just ended Ghana Meets Naija, organized by Empire Entertainment, was reported to have performed on stage with some minors in the late hours.

His actions, according to the controversial lawyer is against the laws of Ghana and should not be tolerated at any event venue in the country.

In an interview with Halifax Ansah Addo on Okay FM’s ‘Best Entertainment Show’ on Monday, Lawyer Ampaw said under the law, “One should not explore children to such level”.

“The labour law of the Republic of Ghana violates children to be explored to such night work. Allowing a child on a musical show at night abuses their rights. It is a wrong practice even if they are going to be paid” he said.

The outspoken lawyer further said, if the musician dares practice such action again, he would take legal actions against him.

“Medikal should study the law and know what is right to do and what is wrong. He seems not to know such actions are not allowed in Ghana so have forgiven him. If he commits again, I would let the law strike on him” he indicated.

Meanwhile, Medikal has responded to the issue stating there is nothing wrong if a minor should stay out late at an event.

He disclosed that he used to hang out with some gurus in the entertainment industry at shows when he was a minor, adding that it has helped him rise to the stage he is now.
