Mayor fights for Ghana Movie
THE KUMASI Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi, has passionately appealed for support for the sinking Ghana movie industry.
He expressed gross worry about how the Ghanaian movie industry had been neglected for some time now.
Mr. Osei Assibey stated that it is high time authorities in government initiate a support for the seeming dying local movie Industry.
He particularly appealed to well-to-do-people in society and corporate bodies to support the movie industry.
The Kumasi Mayor stressed on the fact that, the movie industry has the potential of contributing massively to national growth.
“If given the support, the movie industry alone can help create jobs and help accelerate national development”. he said.
Mr. Osei Assibey made the passionate appeal in an interview with THE PUBLISHER when some movie stars cleaned Kumasi and its environs.
The clean-up exercise was the movie stars’ own efforts to help make Kumasi and the nearby areas look beautiful and healthy avoid of any diseases.
The movie stars were seen cleaning choked gutters and clearing weeds from the roadside, among others.
Emilia Brobbey, a movie star, said their positive action was in support of the ‘Keep Kumasi Clean and Green’ project.
