Mfantsipim School has marked its 150th anniversary with an Awards and Fundraising Dinner held on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
The event brought together distinguished alumni, guests, institutional partners, corporate leaders and members of the Mfantsipim community.
It celebrated the school’s history and its contribution to Ghana’s education and national development, while raising support for its future.
A major highlight was the recognition of outstanding individuals. Alex Apau Dadey, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, received two awards: the Partner of Impact Award and a special award for his contributions to Mfantsipim. The school cited his commitment to supporting its initiatives, saying his support has made a lasting impact and exemplifies the leadership and service the awards seek to celebrate.
Other award recipients were Mr. Solomon Kweku Afful, Outstanding Teaching Staff; Mrs. Constance Odur, Outstanding Non-Teaching Staff; Kwame Dapaah-Afriyie MD, Education Impact Award; Prof. Albert Kwadwo Adu Boahen, Distinguished Alumnus – Academia & Research; George Quaye, Arts & Cultural Excellence; Rt. Hon. Prof. Kofi Abrefa Busia, Distinguished Alumnus – Public Service & Governance; and Mr. Frank Ivan Adama Tackie, Distinguished Alumnus – Business & Entrepreneurship.
The dinner also served as a fundraising event for the school’s 150th-anniversary ambitions and long-term development priorities.
The live auction featured artworks, an exclusive release of 10 custom anniversary Caveman Watches and a Collector’s Edition 150th Anniversary Anthology. Funds raised will support the school’s legacy and infrastructure projects.
Guests were entertained by Ghanaian artists Sefa and Efya. KGL Group and Margins Group were recognised as the main sponsors of the event.
Among the prominent guests were the Deputy Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, and the Okuapem Hene, Oseadeeyo Kwai Akuffo III.
The school said the celebration was not only a tribute to its past but also a renewed commitment to building a stronger future.
