Mina Set for Everton in Next Season Tournament

YERRY MINA is set to sign for Everton from Barcelona for £28.5m after the two clubs reached a deal.

The Toffees have swooped in for the centre-half after his talks with rivals Manchester United were called off.

Mina was one of Colombia’s best players at this summer’s World Cup, which came after a disappointing season in Spain.

The 23-year-old made just six appearances for Barca after joining from Palmeiras in January.

And he looks all set to cut short his time at the Nou Camp and join Marco Silva’s Goodison Park revolution.

He will be the fourth new face for the Premier League side for the new season, and will renew acquaintance with former Barca team-mate Lucas Digne.

Richarlison and Joao Virginia are the two other new Everton recruits.

Silva’s side start their Premier League campaign on Saturday when they travel to take on newly-promoted Wolves.

SunSport exclusively reported how Mina’s £35m move to Manchester United collapsed because of a row over agent’s fees.

Old Trafford bigwigs are fuming because Mina’s adviser Felipe Russo moved the goalposts.

Russo angered them by asking for more and different payments.

United’s Matt Judge met the agent to sort out the player’s side of the deal and agreed a five-year contract last week.

But Russo has refused to budge on extras in the fee, including money due to him and Mina, 23.

United’s patience ran out when Russo did not meet a deadline to sign off on the deal yesterday, despite warnings on Friday.
