MoCD undertakes clean-up exercise as part of civil service week celebration

The Deputy Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Ms. Ama Pomaa Boateng last Thursday, 12th August 2021, led her staff members to undertake a clean-up exercise at the Ministry and its environs as part of activities for the 2021 edition of the Civil Service Week Celebrations.

The activity was well attended with high level of dedication shown, making the environs of the Ministry so clean, and good for hygienic purposes.

She commended the Office of the Head of Civil Service (OHCS) for the initiative and mentioned that it was even more necessary in the midst of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

She advised staff members to take their personal hygiene serious and adhere to the safety protocols to keep everyone safe adding, regular clean up exercises will help keep the community clean and safe from related sickness.

She expressed excitement about the staff turn out stressing on the need to always maintain good sanitation.

The cleaning took place in the various offices, forecourt and the surroundings of the Ministry main building.

The 2021 edition of the Civil Service Week Celebration was under the theme: Economic Transformation amid Covid-19 Pandemic: The Responsibilities of an Adaptive Civil Service’.

Activities which was lined up for the celebration was Press launch, Christian and Muslim thanksgiving service, Public lecture, Policy fair and exhibition, Clean up exercise and health screening and it will be climaxed by Awards ceremony at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The celebration recognize the strategic importance of employees of the Civil Service to national development and to honour their dedicated and selfless service to the public and citizens of Ghana.

It as well celebrates gallant civil service staff and show appreciation for their dedication to work, deepen the trust of citizens in the Civil Service and the public sector in general.

“It is also to sensitize the private sector and citizens on the activities of the Ghana Civil Service, and identify areas of collaboration/partnership, and engage citizens of Ghana with the view to soliciting feedback for policy formulation” a statement ahead of the celebration reads.

The statement indicated the week would also allow civil servants to network, exchange experiences or ideas and upgrade their skills on emerging global reforms in public policies and programs and foster unity and togetherness among them.
