Mom Risks Life To Save Baby From Fire

A WOMAN has become an instant heroine after she risked her life by entering a blazing fire to save her nine-month old baby trapped in a burning house.

She attempted to return into the burning house to save her two other daughters aged 8 and 3 but the temperature was too high for her and the two burnt to death.

Saratu, the mom, realized that her three children, whose ages are 8 years, 3 three years and nine months old, had been trapped by an inferno.

The woman, reportedly, managed to race through the inferno and picked her nine-month old baby to safety in order to save the toddler’s life.

Saratu then tried in vain to risk her life again to save her two other children, all females, aged eight and 3, but the intensity of the fire was too strong.

The fire, which gutted a four bedroom house at Boobai in the Asokore Mampong Municipality burnt the building into ashes on Friday evening.

It drew a crowd that tried to help save the two trapped girls from the house, which was burning fast, but they could also not do anything to save the girls.

Eventually, fire fighters responded to a distress call for help but by the time they managed to put away the fire, the two girls had been burnt into ashes.

People at the scene, even though they were visibly sad, they still praised Saratu, who immediately required medical attention, for saving the toddler from an imminent death.

What exactly triggered the fire outbreak was not immediately known as officials of the Ghana National Fire Service are still into investigations.

Meanwhile, the two girls, who got perished in the fire, were expected to be buried through Islamic traditions. Their traumatised mother, Saratu, is responding to treatment.
