Mr. Poat wins Radio DJ of the Year at 2022 Foklex Media Awards

Experienced Disc Jockey Meshack Okai, popularly known as MR Poat has been awarded as the radio DJ of the Year in Ashanti Region at the Foklex Media Awards 2022 held recently.

The awards ceremony which was organized by the Foklex Media Production seeks to motivate and recognize the hard work of DJs, radio and television presenters and pundits across the country for their sterling performance.

MR Poat who works at Aseda FM beat stiff competition from DJ Lofty from Kumasi FM, DJ Waizy from Adanse3 FM, DJ Micky from Angel FM Kumasi, D-jay Romeo from Akoma FM, DJ Aroma from Pure, among others to emerge winner.

Accepting the award on the night, he said “It hasn’t been an easy journey, we’ve come from far. We are here today by God’s grace. Thanks to everyone who has been supportive over the period. I appreciate the genuine love over the years. I’ll thank God and my bosses for the opportunity given me. To my colleagues and listeners, this is for all of us”.

He added, “The DJ work needs to be improved. We should move from playing just any music on radio, and do quality music. We should stick to promoting more of our artistes and their products but we should challenge them to record good music, so we can also let the listeners not regret listening to us. We can make this happen; we should strive for quality music from our musicians to sanitize the airways”.
